Bookkeeping: Overview

Choose a bookkeeping rhythm that fits how you operate. Monthly support focuses on the month-end close and financial reporting. Weekly support adds scheduled processing and review during the month. It also retains the month-end close. We agree on responsibilities, deliverables, and timing after reviewing your records and workflow.

Bookkeeping Support and Scope

We confirm core bookkeeping and any additional responsibilities in your engagement. Use the package details below to compare reporting and oversight levels. We agree separately on historical cleanup, payroll processing, tax filings, software subscriptions, and payment authority when needed.

  • Bank and credit-card reconciliations
  • Transaction review and categorization
  • Month-end close and quality review
  • Profit and loss and balance-sheet reporting
  • Questions, exceptions, and agreed next steps
  • Additional oversight, cash-flow reports, and advisory support according to the selected package

Monthly or Weekly: Choose Your Bookkeeping Rhythm

Monthly Bookkeeping

Best when your team manages daily invoicing and payments and needs a dependable month-end close.

  • Monthly transaction review and categorization
  • Reconciliations using available statements and records
  • Month-end financial reporting and exceptions

Weekly Bookkeeping

Best when activity needs attention throughout the month and your team wants more frequent processing and follow-through.

  • Scheduled weekly transaction processing and review
  • Regular attention to open items and accounting questions
  • Month-end close and reporting remain part of the agreed workflow

Frequency and scope are separate decisions. We confirm invoicing, receivables, vendor bills, payment responsibilities, and reporting frequency in your engagement.

Monthly Bookkeeping Packages

Clarity, Momentum, and Command describe monthly bookkeeping support. We measure transaction ranges per month, not per week. We scope weekly processing separately based on activity, responsibilities, and reporting needs.

Weekly Bookkeeping Support

A tailored engagement for businesses that need scheduled attention during the month. We agree on the work to be performed each week and how it connects to your month-end close.

  • Processing cadence: a weekly schedule for the transactions and reviews included in your scope.
  • Operating responsibilities: we can include invoicing, receivables follow-up, vendor-bill handling, and payment workflows when agreed.
  • Reporting: financial statements follow the agreed close calendar; weekly updates focus on the items selected for review.
  • Scope and fee: tailored to monthly volume, accounts, complexity, and weekly responsibilities after reviewing your books.

We scope weekly support separately from the monthly packages above. It does not mean the monthly transaction allowances reset each week.

What a Monthly Reporting Package Can Include

An illustrative package, tailored to your records and agreed scope:

  • Financial statements: profit and loss, balance sheet, and relevant period comparisons.
  • Cash visibility: cash position, outstanding receivables, and upcoming obligations.
  • Performance review: key variances and selected measures relevant to your business.
  • Action list: open questions, responsible owners, and priorities for the next review.

Your engagement includes forecasts, dashboards, and advisory meetings when you select them.

Bookkeeping: Our Process

  1. First, review your QuickBooks file, accounts, and workflow.
  2. Next, establish the monthly close calendar and information needed.
  3. Then, reconcile, review, and deliver clear monthly reporting.
  4. Finally, resolve exceptions and improve the process over time.

Frequently asked questions

How does weekly bookkeeping differ from monthly bookkeeping?

Monthly bookkeeping centers on the month-end review, reconciliations, and financial reports. Weekly bookkeeping adds scheduled transaction processing and review during the month. It does not automatically include daily monitoring, bill payment authority, or weekly financial statements; we agree on those responsibilities and deliverables in the scope.

Are package transaction limits monthly or weekly?

The Clarity, Momentum, and Command transaction ranges are monthly totals. We scope a weekly engagement separately around your monthly volume, account complexity, and the work needed each week.

How is monthly volume measured?

We measure volume primarily by average monthly bank and credit-card transactions. We adjust for payroll, inventory, receivables, payables, integrations, and other complexity.

What if we exceed 600 monthly transactions?

We will build a custom bookkeeping and oversight package around your volume, account count, close requirements, and reporting needs.

How quickly are books closed?

We establish the close schedule during onboarding. Timing depends on when you provide statements and source documents.

Do you replace our CPA?

No. We maintain accurate books and coordinate clean year-end information so your tax professional can work efficiently.
